This project is to upgrade the existing PineLabs platform to enable credit line on UPI by integrating with Lender applications. Key lending applications of existing PineLabs platform were impacted like KYC, Underwriting, Onboarding and Authorization. BUSINESS OBJECTIVES

  • To successfully migrate FEC credit cards portfolio from existing VisionPLUS First Data China processing center to First Data India Data Center, powered by EMEA Code Base.
  • To meet the migration timeline of hard cut-off on 14th Dec, 2018. It was a critical business objective due to Operational and Regulatory challenges faced by old First Data China Data center.
  • Implement the features that will help business to grow in market and provide improved customer experience.

THE CHALLENGES

Multiple challenges were encountered during the entire migration project. The following are some glimpses of those challenges:

  • Multiple business processes running outside of FirstVision system- Revenue lines operated outside of FV System like Over limit Fees,Late Fees,Annual and Fees and Cycle Spend Fees etc.
  • Shared resources – Existing BAU team was utilized for Migration program.
  • The FEC overall Data warehouse architecture had multiple databases even outside the cards system that were not transparent to the team, which resulted in challenges in analyzing and fixing issues on DWH side.
  • End to end UAT of FirstVision India platform was in scope but challenge was testing the downstream systems and database flow as this was built over past years with limited access to the documentation.
  • Number of Functional Gaps needed to be addressed between old and new platform as new platform was running on enhanced EMEA code base.
  • Test planning window was greatly reduced due to stringent timelines.

Success Story Card Migration

VisionPLUS to HPS PowerCard migration in UAE

Business Objectives

To successfully migrate Credit, Prepaid & Islamic credit cards portfolio
from existing VisionPLUS card processor platform together with data
held inhouse at T24 system to HPS PowerCARD platform.

The Challenges

Multiple challenges were encountered during the entire migration project. Thefollowing list provides a glimpse of those challenges:

  • Inherent challenges posed by multiple sources of data, active card accounts from prior processor and 90 days past due, written-off accounts data from a different source system. During the time when the cards portfolio was growing, certain system changes were made like split limit implementation, these were posing threat to the data consistency while reconciling.
  • There were challenges in understanding and setting up the desired parameters due to change in migration approach in UAT and PROD respectively.
  • Change in migration strategy very close to the planned migration change was one of the biggest challenge. Instead of the cycle day cut-off it was decided to migrate on a non-cycle day.

This consumer finance arm contributes a significant portion to its total business. Under this vertical client issues a wide variety of cards which includes the Titanium (Cartnet), Platinum, Gold, Payday and Islamic cards.
