TOP 5 CRITERIA’S TO CONSIDER WHILE SELECTING NEW CARD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

I started my career with Kanbay as COBOL developer writing codes for the customization or support requests from business for their credit card system (VisionPLUS). This allowed me to learn and grasp nuances of the credit cards business.

Then in year 2011, when we started with Verinite, it was always our vision that we would be involved in the consulting piece at-least for the cards industry and that too from technology as well as business stand point. Over last 3 years, we have executed 5 such assignments with varied degree of complexity and delivered exceptional value to our customers as all the clients implemented the recommendations made by us. The nature of consulting assignments involved:

  1. Bank in Vietnam – They wanted to replace the existing card management system (credit + debit + prepaid). We executed a 14 week assignment for them which involved selecting a right and future proof system out of the 6 shortlisted product vendors.
  2. One of oldest Islamic bank in Malaysia – Bank wanted us to review the technology strategy in light of the 5 year business strategy put together for the next 5 years. It involved reviewing the current system, processes, people aspects and vendors evaluation.

Through these varied kind of experiences, the consulting team at Verinite put together a vendor evaluation methodology to help financial institutions to select right systems to support their medium and long term needs. I hope this methodology will provide insight and prove helpful for everyone.

I am happy to hear your thoughts !!!
